Add Windows Printer:
NOTE: Printers are identified by location, manufacturer, model, and driver type. We recommend you install the printer queue ending in PCL6.
To install a printer, choose one of the methods below that best meets your needs:
On campus you must be connected directly to the COP network, or via UAWiFi to print or install a COP printer. Off-campus use requires connecting through the Cisco VPN client.
NOTE for Students:
To install the student printer in Phoenix Bldg 3 and Tucson’s Drachman Hall Room B-208, install the printer named “Ricoh-Printers“. Students can use these directions to release their print job.
Method 1: Search programs and files — (Easiest Method)
For Windows 10/11:
- Click the search bar and type in “\\print.pharmacy.arizona.edu” <enter>
- Go to Step 3.
- A list of COP printers will open. Choose the printer you need and double click it. It will download and install the necessary drivers.
Method 2: Install using Windows “Devices and Printers”
- Click “Start” + “Control Panel”
- Click “Devices and Printers”
- Click “Add Printer”
- Click “Add a network, wireless, or bluetooth printer”
- Click Stop to stop the search
- Click “The printer that I want isn’t listed”
- Select the radio button for “Select a shared printer by name”
- Type in (without quotes): \\print.pharmacy.arizona.edu\”
- Scroll and click the printer you want to install
- Click “Next”
- After the printer installs, select “Next”
- If desired, check the “Set as the default printer” or click “Print a test page”
- Click “Finish”
Method 3: Install using Windows “Devices and Printers”
- Click “Start” + “Control Panel”
- Click “Devices and Printers”
- Click “Add Printer”
- Click “Add a network, wireless, or bluetooth printer”
- To sort the printers by name, in the Add Printer window, click the “Printer Name” column header
- Scroll and double click the printer you want to install
- After the printer installs, select “Next”
- If desired, check the “Set as the default printer” or click “Print a test page”
- Click “Finish”
Setting a Windows Default Printer:
Windows Vista/7/8/10:
- Click “Start”
- Click “Control Panel”
- Click or go to “Devices and Printers”
- Right click the printer you want to set as default
- Click “Set as default printer”
Manual Removal of Printers:
Windows 7/8/10:
- Click “Start”
- Click “Control Panel”
- Windows 7–click “Devices and Printers”; Windows 8/10–click “Control Panel” and then click “Devices and Printers”
- Right click the printer you wish to delete
- Click “Remove Device”
