Office 365 Migration 2023

Office365 Migration Help

The College is moving to use the UAConnect Office365 email system instead of our own Office 365 instance. This was prompted by campus-wide security concerns.

What will be changing:

  1. Students will use their Catmail arizona.edu email accounts only. Email to their College of Pharmacy accountswill likely continue to be delivered to their Catmail accounts (we are working how this will happen)
  2. Current Faculty/Staff and Emeritus faculty will use their [netid]@arizona.edu accounts, email to their College of Pharmacy accounts will continue to be delivered indefinitely. Their email on the COP side will be migrated to the UAConnect side.
  3. Active DCC's  will need to start using their [netid]@Arizona.edu accounts
  4. Retired faculty and staff who DID NOT migrate their [netid]@Arizona.edu to Google upon retirement will have their 60-day switchover window reset.
  5. Retired faculty and staff who DID migrate their [netid]@Arizona.edu to Google upon retirement will need to manually move and data remaining on the COP O365 site.
  6. ALL OTHER people with active COP Accounts will lose access to their emails and any other data they have in Office365: this includes alumni and former faculty/staff who still have access. They will need to manually move any data they wish to retain, and inform any organizations or persons they communicate with of the deletiong of their COP email address and an alternate email address provided.
  7. All data in Office 365 (Teams, Sharepoint, shared mailbox accounts, OneDrive, One Note, etc) will also be migrated; all of these will have modified names with [COP] prepended to the team name, etc. Members and owners of the teams, sharepoint sites, and shared mailboxes will retain that status, just under their [netid]@arizona.edu

What will NOT be changing:

  1. Active Students/Faculty/Staff will continue to use their COP accounts to log into COP-owned devices, and to access the COP file servers (L:\. O;\ and Q:\ ), and printers
  2. We will retain our UAWiFi and VPN profile to retain access to COP resources when on WiFi or off-campus.
  3. Files and folder on your COP-Owned computer or the file servers will NOT be changing, and will continue to work as it does now.
  4. The primary changes you should see are that you will have a different email account for all your mail and a different login for Teams and Sharepoint. One advantage of this migration is much simpler calendar sharing and sharepoint/teams collaboration with the rest of campus.

We anticipate the migration process will occur the week of Dec 19th and cutover to the UA system to happen after that.
